No-Party Candidate · Iowa House District 61
Committed to YOU, not a party.
Your representative should support what's good for you, without pressure from partisan leadership.
I believe neither party has a monopoly on good ideas. These are my commitments to you — not policy promises I can't keep, but governing principles I can.
Born and raised in Waterloo, I am the son of a retired Waterloo police officer and retired Iowa Department of Corrections probation officer. Naturally, I grew up with a strong sense of right and wrong — but what makes my upbringing special was the constant emphasis on not judging others and considering things from others' points of view.
I went to Kittrell, Hoover, and West High before attending UNI and Iowa. During that time, I detasseled, worked at Fareway as a courtesy clerk, and drove Cambus at Iowa. After graduating with a degree in linguistics, I worked in Christian ministry for several years. I now work full-time as an enterprise application developer.
My wife and I have been married for 12 years and have three kids — along with two dogs and three cats. If that doesn't sound crazy enough, we've also started fostering animals with the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
Throughout my life, my friends, classmates, and coworkers have been from many different walks of life and worldviews — so I know that listening to one another and working together despite differences is essential to a healthy community. That's how I want to serve and represent you.
